Meet the Committee

The Competitions Subcommittee is a brand-new arm of the Western Sydney Law Students’ Association, officially established in 2025. Formerly known as the Western Sydney Moot Club, the subcommittee was integrated under the WSLSA umbrella to expand the scope of competitions and provide more accessible, skill-building opportunities for students.

This integration responds to a significant gap in the competitive legal experience available to students at our university. Now, with greater institutional support, the Competitions Subcommittee is better positioned to deliver high-quality internal and external competitions - including mooting, client interviewing, witness examination, and negotiation - that enhance students' practical legal skills and career readiness.

The committee is led by a highly experienced team of student advocates who have represented Western Sydney University at both national and international levels. Their firsthand expertise informs every initiative they deliver, ensuring that WSLSA competitions are run with professionalism, rigour, and passion. They promote skills development and create pathways for students to engage in practical legal experiences.
