Representing Yourself: Understanding Self-Advocacy and Inclusion in the Legal Profession

Tue, 25 Aug 2026
16:00 - 18:00

Brought to you by the Law Society and WSLSA Social Justice team.

This event will explore the realities of power dynamics, inclusivity and diversity in academic and professional settings.

From understanding holistic safety and finding your own professional identity to self-advocacy and defining the parameters of your social responsibility, this session combines social justice theory and practice by looking beyond tokenistic gestures and “one-size-fits-all" approaches.

This event will include an opportunity to build your confidence and apply these skills in a guided world-café style discussion, leaving participants with the language and practical tools to communicate boundaries and needs, and raise concerns in the real world.

Light Refreshments provided.
